About TriadWorks
TriadWorks is a collaborative entity comprised of five Workforce Development Boards (WDB) in the North Carolina Triad region. The five WDBs promote regional economic development by building upon each individual WDB's strengths. Together, the WDBs commit to engaging and empowering a workforce that can meet the needs of any employer in the world, especially within the four industry clusters identified by the 2006 WIRED initiative.
What is a Workforce Development Board?
Workforce Development Boards are local private-public partnerships that manage and direct the federal and state resources allocated for workforce development. Each board consists of individuals from private business, government and community groups, with the Chair and Vice-Chair being private-sector business persons. A WDB's mission is to make the best investment of the available resources to meet the local needs of businesses.
Why Regional?
TriadWorks believes that regional cooperation, innovation and planning allows for better alignment of education and training resources with employers' needs.
TriadWorks Directors meet monthly with a shared vision: to build a globally competitive, highly skilled, forward-looking workforce. Developing this workforce takes a cooperative approach to these four goals outlined in the TriadWorks strategic plan:
· Maximize the Workforce Development System to provide a skilled workforce to improve the quality of life and create opportunities for individuals in the TriadWorks region.
· Promote continuous improvement through the sharing of best practices.
· Foster collaboration and build relationships with committed partners and stakeholders to strive for common goals and to become a catalyst for change.
· Enhance the quality of Workforce Development delivery systems to become the "go to" place for responsive solutions to meet customers' needs.
